Very sympathetic to cause of greater education but the presentation of the survey here seems misleading. 85%+ not informed about slavery but 63% of the same sample support apology? Seems like most respondents weren’t able to cite the right figures, rather than not knowing about enslavement at all…

Great video from the Canadian Conservation Institute on the recent treatment of the Buttrey Manuscript of British military music. Once owned by a fifer in the 34th Regiment during the Napoleonic Wars, it was passed down through family before being donated to a museum.

This Cambridge engineering wing was built in memory of physicist John Hopkinson and his son John Gustave, victims of an 1898 mountaineering accident. Absent from the plaque: Alice and Lina Evelyn Hopkinson, who died with their father and brother in the same Alpine mishap.
