In our First Nations traditions (the first astronomers) Venus is the sister of the Sun and wife to Jupiter. Lovely to see them so close.

I think I can always sense the void moon, they really make me want to just do nothing. Could this be my chart ruler being in cancer? (And my naturally lazy Taurus sun? lol)

Alchemilla, the botanical name of Lady’s Mantle, derives from an Arabic word meaning “the alchemist’s plant”. The sparkling droplets gathered from its leaves were once thought magical; an aphrodisiac, and even a lotion said to preserve youth and beauty forever!

Lily-of-the-valley is the birth flower of May. A legend tells of a nightingale’s enduring love for this flower, returning each year to sing to his belovèd, & falling silent as her blooms fade away. For this reason the lily-of-the-valley came to symbolise the return of happiness.

Uranus returns to Gemini for the next 7 years. We leave behind the Uranus in Taurus era that began in 2018 and saw changes in ecology, climate crisis, food supply, our sense and maintenance of beauty standards, and much more. 1/2

In April fresh green growth emerges from fern plants. These curled fronds are called “fiddleheads” for their resemblance to the scroll carved at the head of a violin, shaped as a decorative spiral known as a volute. Ferns are said to bring good luck and symbolise eternal youth.

Tree ferns, some of the oldest plants, embody endurance and primeval times. Their unfurling fronds, known as the koru in Māori culture, symbolise new life and renewal. Long linked with magic and protection, they stand as living bridges between the ancient past and the present.

I’ve been seeing Venus so bright in the evening sky for the last week, it’s amazing. Like a single shimmering diamond in the dusk. I literally clap and say “hey, girl!” And tell her how gorgeous she is.

April’s full moon rises on 1st April 2026. It is known as the “Pink Moon”, not for its colour, but for the flowering of bright pink Phlox subulata, the creeping phlox that blooms across North America at this time of year. It is also called the Budding Moon, as spring now unfolds.

One lesson ♄ through ♓︎ taught me is that: We are where we are until we're not. We deal with what we deal with until we don't. You heal when you heal. You're ready when you're ready. There is no hurry that will make time move at the speed you want it to. Things will happen when they happen.

The word ‘jubilant’ comes from Latin ‘jubilare’ meaning to “shout for joy” or “rejoice”, and is sometimes associated with a fanfare of trumpets. What better word to describe daffodils, the colourful trumpet-flowers that herald the arrival of spring!
