Realizing more some of the cleverness of @rianjohnson.bsky.social in Wake Up Dead Man. Benoit Blanc brings up the famous novel "The Hollow Man" and on reflection I can think of at least three other instances of hollow men (in some context) being relevant to the story.

This also applies to cartoons and comics and basically everything. It doesn’t matter if you have a concept of something already out there. If you love it, do it. Your work will have your unique mark on it by virtue of being made by YOU. (Also two cakes.)

Wake Up Dead Man is another solid mystery from Rian Johnson that still manages to feel like a wholly different type of story from the first two Benoit Blanc mysteries. As always, it just leaves me wanting more.

In case you have never seen this.

Minor complaint about Zootopia 2. The teaser trailer for it while it has a lot of indirect references to characters or events of the movie, also has one that seems disconnected from it: Nick, Judy, and Gary facing off with a menacing cloaked figure atop a building in the city.

Possibly Fellowship of the Ring. It was the first movie that me and a bunch of friends were completely psyched for and went out to see as a group. The energy before and after have been hard to replicate.

As a long-time Myst fan, I am disappointed by the lack of lovingly rendered elevator rides in the trailers of this year's Game Awards.

This miiiiight be my favorite description of my book. Also, who's going to tell Shiloh that the sequel has a magic sex *castle*?

Also its weird that we've had two trailers at the Game Awards that feature world-destroying evils exploding out of the bodies of old men like the world's worst popped boils, right?
