Yesterday, we stood with @tinakotek.bsky.social as she signed new energy bills into law, including the FAIR Energy Act, which will protect Oregonians from constant rate hikes. We thank her for helping to ease bills, especially for those who most bear the brunt of this tough economy. #EnergyJustice

“As we all work towards a clean energy future, which is making sure people have clean electricity in their homes, it has to be affordable,” Kotek told OPB. “And for those households who will be most challenged to meet increased prices, we’re going to do something about that.

Energy affordability! Gov. Kotek has signed new laws that will help lower energy costs for Oregonians, require data centers to cover their own high energy costs instead of shifting them to average consumers, and expand energy bill assistance for low-income households.

This is a powerful illustration that cooling equipment is an important safety measure to protect the people we love, especially as we see heat waves surge across Oregon.
