I've been dreading this New Year. I lost my Dad in March, and somehow can't shake the feeling that I'm leaving him behind in 2024. Time is taking me further away from him. I'm plunged back into the grief anew. I miss him so much.

Had blood taken from the crook of my arm, and the nurse hit a nerve. The shooting, burning pain down my arm was agony. Now I've got residual burning pain in my wrist & hand, and I've lost feeling in the tip of my thumb and index finger! I've had bloods done hundreds of times, but this is a new one!

Humble thanks to all who served and sacrificed in the name of freedom. This is my Dad, who served in the brutal and little known 'Malayan Emergency' of the 1950s. He was a Tactical Sketcher (or 'Testicle Scratcher' as he preferred to say). He had nightmares until the end of his life. Miss you, Dad.
