Like right now, I'm leveling Fighter Origin in GBF from 40-50, which is HELLA tedious, but I still *want* to do it because it's scratching an itch for teambuilding and progression that I like. BUT, I put it off for so long *because* part of the unlock process was too tedious for my brain at the time

My main rule is to never succumb to sunk-cost fallacy. I don't mind putting time and money into something I enjoy, so even if I stop having fun and move onto something else, I never regret the time and money spent in the past because I enjoyed it back then.

Genuinely, as someone who plays several live service games I always have a checklist that's like - Ask yourself if you're having fun - Never have a "forever game", play or read or do other stuff alongside it - Don't set paid subs to auto-renew - Think about what you want, not what the game wants
