Just got back into Magic this year, and was delighted to find out how consistently amazing the community is. Gaming and nerd spaces can be hit or miss, but the MTG community is just fucking awesome.

Really hard to look at this and all the other examples of bravery and kindness from ordinary people in this moment not think also of the tremendous cowardice exhibited over the past year by some of the richest, most well-protected people in business, media and politics

Even the worst person alive should not be gunned down in the street by the state. Still, it is very striking how the people killed by DHS agents in the Twin Cities have been the sorts of Americans we routinely celebrate as "our best." Were I writing a book, I'd call the intended moral over-obvious.
