The idea that a person surviving a sacrifice lessens the sacrifice is gross. The fact the character is willing to save another is what ultimately matters, not that it results in a corpse.

Sacrifice in fiction being this be all end all goal for characters that can't ever be walked back or questioned is imo very silly.

Legendary artist Drew Struzan has sadly passed away at the age of 78 after a battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Struzan designed the posters for the original 6 Star Wars movies. He also created iconic posters for Back to the Future, Blade Runner, Indiana Jones, and more.

Due to my neurodivergence, certain death scenes in fictional media can trigger a meltdown. I just experienced one after seeing Malik’s brutal death in #Superman. The “Death solely for emotional manipulation” was similar to Tech’s from #thebadbatch but at least, Superman was given a PG-13 rating
