Two thirds of the text and images for the book have gone out for people to check over 🙌 got some long interviews to edit still and send out but slowly getting there 😅

I need to find someone relatively well known to write a foreword for my book but I don’t know who to ask… and also scared of rejection! If anyone has any ideas or can help…. Let me know!

The erasure of the work of women in audio is real and so painful. As someone who has navigated incredibly sexist environments, and experienced discrimination as a Latina and an immigrant in different contexts...Sometimes it's impossible not to lose hope.

Listening back to the interviews has been good. It’s made me think about a lot. One interesting part has been learning about people’s different relationships with music - what they get from it, how they use it, what they love. It’s making me think about my own connection with music too.

Today I finished transcribing and tidying up all the written interview content for the book - there’s about 33 altogether 😅 Next step is to edit each one down which I’m looking forward to… and the photos too.

Unfortunately I can’t make this in person anymore, but I will be sending over the 20min short cut of the film in my place (and there should also be some freebies in sticker/zine form…). Plus all the the other speakers are gonna be awesome!

Caught up with Kat today who was pretty much the first person I interviewed for the book - it was nice to hear what she’s done since 2022! (This is why I’m having to get this finished asap - I can’t believe I started working on the project that long ago!)

Still got those 5-6 interviews left to sort out…. Proving a challenge to coordinate with people and get them set up, plus rail engineering works not helping the situation.

In the last couple of weeks I’ve got another seven interviews done for the book. It’s been interesting and tiring but glad to feel like I’m making progress at last. Only got 5-6 more to do and then I’ll be able to start actually putting the content together!
