Malik mattered because he understood that being early was not enough. You had to connect the technical fact to the business consequence, the business consequence to the human one, and the human one back to the story people told themselves about progress. That was his beat.

Very sad to read this. Om was a mentor to me, teaching me how to understand the tech industry and cut through the bullshit. But more than that, a very warm, lovely, generous guy.

I lost my mentor and friend last night, and the world lost one of the most human interpreters of technology at a time when his voice is needed most. @om.co never shied away from calling out bullshit but he also was so in love with the potential that technology represented. I will miss him terribly.

I am trying the Google Health AI coach and it's terrible. Every interaction takes about 90 seconds and it constantly forgets things. It also seems to be imagining a feature where I could log my migraines. When I follow those instructions they don't lead anywhere. No way someone should pay for this.
