105 years ago today, Tennessee became the 36th and last state needed for ratification of the 19th Amendment which embedded the right of women to vote in the U.S. Constitution. Bells rang across America. Today, some Republicans are actively speaking out against women's right to vote.

Many museum exhibits and historical markers across the U.S. could use an overhaul. But censorship and suppressing the experiences of women, people of color, immigrants, workers, & indigenous peoples is morally corrupt. Leave museums to professionals & communities. Keep politicians out of it.

I did some research for the WDYTYA team and appeared as a guest historian when Sharon Osbourne's roots brought her to the textile mills of Fall River, Massachusetts. She was a pleasure to work with. This is part 1 of our 2 segments.

Looks like an interesting new book in the history of capitalism for myself and interested collegues.

All academics should keep up with discussions of AI. It will impact every field of study, academic culture, and research. A heavy does of skepticism is good, but we need to participate in the discussions and not accept the direction of AI as inevitable and immune to our influence.

A new book to add to the reading list on the history of economic thought. But skeptical of all-encompassing claims to the "scientific nature" of economics, which like history is not free from value judgments and bias. A "critical" approach should acknowledge this, even without being heterodox.

Most academic authors do not have the resources to sue, but their research and texts are rapidly being used illegally and plagiarized by AI. We have to gatekeep this now. The outcome of this will be precedent setting.

There are many factual errors at America's National Historical Parks. I address this in my forthcoming book. Most of the general public has no idea what the content mistakes are. Some history should make us feel uncomfortable or make us think. Erasing memorials to history will never erase the past.

Those of us working with quantitative evidence in our research know how bad it could become when data is no longer reliable, people who can produce data disappear, and the skills set no longer exists.
