On the surface you might think Fist of the North Star is just power fantasy shonen with yoked out dudes in football gear fighting in the desert but it's not. It's a criticism of power, injustice and what we call toxic masculinity today. The characters are nuanced and much deeper than they look.

People really underestimate just how fucking cool Tetsuo Hara actually is. He is almost blind and it is about as effective against his drawing as a wet napkin against Kenshiro's iron chest. He funds children's hospitals. He said AI will never win because it can't be prepared to die like a human.

I would say Grand Theft Auto 5 personally. It was recommended by tons of people over the years and is one of the highest selling games ever but aside from enjoying a few funny scenes, there was nothing about it that really worked for me.
