So I'm alive- I say this cause I went to the hospital again, went 2 days without food and water (under watch) to get my gallbladder removed And now I'm at home, at rest, and can't lift anything 10lbs or heavier for a month, doctor's orders.

It’s such a powerful indicator of how we’ve lost our way. Not even this unprecedented tragedy could shake half this country awake. And what kind of nation doesn’t collectively grieve the loss of a million of its people in 3 years? A soulless nation.

Adding to this: I actually got asked when I was in the hospital why I was smiling when they were escorting me (cause I'm a fall risk) I was nostalgic about the dog I used to live with who'd never leave my side. Despite my pain, I smile a lot- just naturally? Swear they don't believe I'm in pain.

If you're quiet about your disabilities, you get accused of being a fake. If you're outspoken, you get accused of being attention seeking. Disabled people deserve to be believed and supported without hate. We deserve to be able to thrive.
