Why are so many reply boxes greyed out? What’s the point of one way conversation?

I just muted @jushinsuave.bsky.social, because he apparently doesn’t allow replies from anyone whom he doesn’t follow or who follows him. That is like being talked at and not being allowed to talk back. Why should I waste my time with someone who cannot tolerate disagreement or debate?

I find the most annoying thing on social media is when you see a post that you really feel the need to comment on only to see the comments are limited and you cannot comment. I think if you cannot comment on a post, it should not be visible to you.
