The nicest thing I can say about modern Zelda is how good this version of Princess Zelda is. She's well-written and is memorable even if you never interact with her in gameplay. I'll miss the characters of BotW/TotK when the franchise moves on, but not much else.

Rune Factory: GoA has been really fun so far, but I really wasn't expecting it to drop a puzzle dungeon with better design than anything in the last 3 Zelda games halfway through. It's also the first town management game to get me to actually care about making a good town layout.

Played some Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate for the first time in years, and I think seeing Paintballs and pick axes in my inventory healed my soul a bit. I miss when Monster Hunter games had design friction and asked you to actually pay attention and prepare for a hunt.

Finished rewatching Star Trek TNG Season 1 with @floatingweapons.bsky.social last night. I know season 1 isn't as good as the rest of the show, but I think it's really over-hated. There are a lot of bad episodes in it, but a few good ones too, and it sets up all of the characters pretty well.
