Q for other authors: what units do you use and why? I used imperial for SfW because a: largely US audience doesn't understand SI b: miles scans better than kilometers c: they felt appropriately anachronistic for the setting.

Someone at my signing yesterday told me they "hope Stealing from Wizards blows up and I get super famous." I take that as the compliment it was meant as, but also it raises a weird thing about writing: a novel is like undetonated munitions: Probably a dud, might explode at any moment.

Wearing jeans today that ride just a tiny bit too low. Also a shirt that rides a tiny bit too high. I also have a chair that when I sit down informs me via its icy cold plastic back the exact size and location of the gap between shirt and pant. 🥶
