People in Minnesota are now using their key fobs to trigger their car alarms from the safety of their homes when they see ICE walking around.

Maybe it’s because I’m old and applying to PhD programs in a new field “late” in life, but I can’t fathom using a machine to do my thinking and writing for me—on anything, let alone applications. I applied to 8 programs this fall and it never occurred to me to do this. Shit is bleak.

MN has an undeserved reputation of being full of overly nice, liberal pushovers, but I will remind you that it is the only state to routinely refuse to return captured Confederate flags and produces more hockey players than any other state. These are hardy people who will happily kick your ass.
