While I'm laid up, I'm catching up on reading and note-taking. Here's what I jotted down from chapters 2-4 of @markwitton.bsky.social's "King Tyrant" before I had to take it back to the library.

I want to destroy the notion that STEM, humanities and arts, are separate units of knowledge and skill. And if you do one, you can't do other. I am a geologist, professional artist and trained in international relations. They all complement each other.

Triceratops model exploration done over the weekend. This is not based on a particular specimen. While we have some skin impressions from triceratops frills, I elected for larger scales along its surface to study different keratin textures.

Forgot to announce I have a new paper out this week! Animals that are more front-heavy have thicker, differently shaped forelimb bones to deal with the extra load.
