Next Gen Showcase for Toronto Games Week was last night. Forever impressed by the quality of work that the smallest of indie teams can produce.

It's Toronto Games Week AND Steam Next Fest AND I have more clients at once than ever before.

hugely agree, soundscape does SO much for the energy of a trailer but in-game SFX are what I think shifts a trailer from "that game looks cool" to "I can -feel- how cool it must be to play that game"

I cannot emphasize enough that your trailers NEED to have some sort of in-game sound. Steam Next Fest is full of good looking games feeling real flat in their short attempt to grab attention.

Checked out the Parkade event for Toronto Games Week because it was on my block. Some great lookin games.

Does anyone else stay up way too late watching other people finish The Outer Wilds? It's the closest you can ever get to the one time in your life you get to do it yourself. Man, what a perfect game.

Looking at this, I have come to a realisation. The first 3 are named Super Mario Bros. Then the series becomes Super Mario (other word). Bros isn't reintroduced until Wonder. Meaning the real Super Mario Bros 4 is actually Super Mario Bros Wonder. Everything else is non mainline.

Finally got around to starting The Witness. Super excited. Heard a lot of great things. But I just can't do these specific puzzles. Feels like I'm brute forcing them over and over and over. My brain doesn't have it. There's like 15 in a row, so I think I'm just done with the game. Sorry.

One thing I've noticed during this Next Fest is just how good sound design and musical aesthetics has gotten. So many games so far have audio landscapes and languages that are either guiding you to heaven or punching you in the face (positive)

What is goin on in the world?? I genuinely cannot afford this right now.
