The underlying of pushing the path toward winning the tournament (more DPs & higher cap) is that it would erode parity as not all teams would take advantage of it. So I think MLS has favored parity and cost control over going after winning ... and likely was a mistake.

Except the people who bought the tickets early (your most loyal fans) are left holding the bag. And if people know prices are coming down, they won't buy tickets until the very last minute. Maybe not an issue for a one time event like FIFA, but this would be a nightmare for a regular org.

Toluca are the best team in North America. No shame in losing to them. But those were two awful & rookie mistakes that LAFC gave up. And you can't miss open nets and expect to win. Not good enough.

LAFC survives the first half. I think you have to bring on David Martinez for Tillman at half to provide another counter outlet. You can't defend like this without providing a counter threat to keep their backline honest.
