I just backed this, besides wanting to support Australian journalism I think the team is burying the most exciting part in the Kickstarter description. Issue 1 will contain new information about the long defunct Sega World Sydney... That's got me hook, line. and sinker.

Anecdotally, all of the biggest CRT-heads I know are my age or younger. Hell, I'm an example of this trend, most of the inspirations for YHVH are older than I am. I got into retro gaming partly because that's what my crappy laptop could handle for most of my life, GOG was a big part of that.

Insane set of speakers wow, and Nonolith will be showcasing there too! This is the big Sydney games event to get excited for!

It really sucks to see SXSW Sydney go. I attended 2023 as a student volunteer, and it was my first time meeting devs from beyond Sydney. I learned a lot from guerilla-showcasing Your Holy & Virtuous Heretic that year, it was my first brush with the good and bad in the professional world of games.

I can't even begin to describe the immensity of my feelings about the end of SXSW Sydney. Detractors of the festival have valid critiques, but we didn't go to the same event. So much of what made it great gets lost in the noise of what the festival was on paper. SXSW Sydney was about community.
