I liked 'Boots' on Netflix, about a gay kid going through boot camp for the marines in the 1990s. There's surprisingly a lot of lightness and fun along with the serious themes. It felt thoughtful and human and a little different from anything I've seen before.

My random opinion about AI: right now the various AIs are at stage 1 of enshitification: be good to the user but lock them in. Once we've become sufficiently dependent on the AIs they'll move on to stage 2: put in a bunch of ads and let companies pay to influence what the AI tells you.

I just saw & loved 'Relay' with Riz Ahmed, the plot was nothing special but Ahmed is magnetic to watch and the overall vibe - a character living a life of isolation and paranoia but still looking for human connection in spite of himself - felt just perfect for right now.
