CEO mandates about % of AI generated code make more sense when you remember companies make decisions that cause productivity and revenue to suffer *all the time* like RTO, not promoting folk leading to high turnover etc. It's about maintaining the power balance and sending a message to investors.

I've thought a lot about the fact that LLMs remove class and opportunity barriers to the generation of standard English, but as folk start to lose trust in that output I wonder if there will be increased social value in less generic forms of language like vernacular 🙃

I get that economic dynamics in the likes of software companies make it almost inevitable that folk are going to do incredibly reckless things with AI, but for historically risk averse organisations it seems to represent a sudden abandonment of basic oversight. It's very odd.
