The lychgate of St Andrews Church, Hope Bowdler was erected in 1863 and is the only one in Shropshire with a coffin stone. Coffin stones were used to rest the coffin before its final journey. The lychgate itself is highly symbolic, marking the boundary between consecrated and unconsecrated ground.

In June 1919, navigator Arthur Brown, this black cat toy called Twinkletoes, and pilot John Alcock made the first nonstop Atlantic flight. Twinkletoes rode in Arthur’s Jacket. St Non's Well sits on the cliff top, along the coastal path from St David's, Pembrokeshire. It is here that St Non reputedly gave birth to her son, later to become St David, in the 6th century. Legend states that a healing spring came forth from the moment he was born. #Folklore #History #Wales

A potential mortsafe is located in St Laurence's Churchyard, Church Stretton. Mortsafes, also known as mortcages, functioned as a deterrent to grave robbing. They were meant to address the theft of corpses and their sale to medical schools, as well as the looting of graves. #History #Shropshire
