Fascinating. Neal Adams drew this Spirit cover, leaving the figure as pencils only so Eisner could ink it in his style. Instead, Will drew a completely new Spirit, and the cover went unpublished. It was eventually published with Neal's figure and colors by Richard Corben, in The Art of Neal Adams.

In 1971, a 30-year-old Neal Adams sat down to crank out a Superman cover for Julie Schwartz. Took him an hour or so. It became one of the most iconic comic book covers of all time. Coming up at Heritage soon. Might be a million dollar piece.
