I think we have enough data now, 40+ years, to say in the long term privatisation has not improved anything. It's not improved standards, it's not lowered costs. It is a failed experiment.

The latest white paper leeks suggest this isn't SEND reform this is SEND abandonment. Especially at the senior school level. Not a surprise considering most senior schools are academies, which are ultimately there to make money.

The simplest most long term cost effective way to fix SEND care for kids is for the state to build more specialist schools. But as that doesn't fit in the world of privatised education in which we now exist. It'll never happen.
