I want to say a big thank you to each and every one of you for sharing your words, sharing your art, supporting my art, choosing my art for your business or your home, and bringing beauty and kindness into the world. Here are some reflections on my design and artmaking in 2025.

Today’s find at Savers Hoxton Park: 60 Minutes The Book, from 1983 ($6). If you can get past the hair, some interesting early 80s references and an entertaining step back in time (a time when I was still in primary school).

The Nintendo Wii is still going strong in many households. It turns 20 this year! In recent weeks, we were at two different homes where it was played (one friend was even picking up accessories for it via Facebook Marketplace for his kids), and it was played at ours today, too.

Today’s find: 100% Hits Vol. 24. Some blah long-forgotten songs, but it is still late 90s and features Radiohead’s No Surprises, Robyn Loau’s Sick With Love and Verve’s The Drugs Don’t Work, so there are a few redeeming features.

The local Vinnies has now sorted out the CDs by colour! Similar to how they do books and clothes! At least it will be easy finding copies of Martin/Molloy’s Brown Album, Poop Chute and Eat Your Peas

It’s true, Australia has one of the world’s most expensive passports and this warping is what happens if you leave it out for a few days. They don’t even give you the little plastic protective sleeves they used to come in; I still use one that’s more than 20 years old (also pictured).

Over a decade ago this was the type of thing PR companies would send you: LCD video mailer press kits with built in videos. This was the only purpose of the rechargeable device: to play a couple of two minute clips about the product! #presskit

25 years ago, Radiohead played the Theatre Antique, Arles. I was lucky enough to be front and centre to hear live debuts of so many of their now-iconic songs like Everything In Its Right Place. Unforgettable experience! In my diary I wrote how @thomyorke.wastehq.social said we were a nice crowd!

Over the years I’ve lost a lot of rice cookers. But I’ve kept the spatulas which, I’m told, are called rice paddles (or shamoji in Japanese). They have an interesting history and are often used as good luck charms!
