Remembering that time that Miles Davis brought flowers to Laura Nyro at one of her concerts and also stopped by a recording session to possibly play but after listening, declared, “this is perfect, it doesn’t need me!”

Even the font is a pleasure. Gideon Gaye, by The High Lllamas. LP released in 94. Checking In Checking Out released as a single in 95. Highest chart position was 96. Not sure what those numbers mean, but the Record Show is Checking Out around now.

Another thing I missed. Siouxsie and Budgie's version of Wild Thing. Came out in 1981. It's brilliant. So good that it allows me to play the song twice. Now on the MB Record Show.

Another Chip Taylor song. Probably the most famous one. He was asked to write a song for the resident group in the Arthur night club in New York in 1965. They were called The Wild Ones. So, you know..... why not? Excellent version , too. Now on the MBRS

No, I'm still trying to work out the squirrel reference. But it's Laptop, so you don't need to work too hard. Great new single. And they did all the drawing themselves. Isn't that very good? Now on the MBRS

The best Byrd. Gene Clark. First solo outing in 1967 had his song So You Say You've Lost Your Baby on it. Experience its greatness on the radio round here. The Late Show, it's filed under. If you're interested, I mean.

Bands about to take the stairs, part 1. It's Lightheaded. New Jersey cultural representatives. Their excellent LP - Thinking, Dreaming, Scheming - is still the one to get from 2025. As a reminder of it's quality, Love Is Overrated is playing on the MB Record Show.

I have to assume the title refers to the toy and is not a euphemism worthy of Billericay Dickie. But I've been wrong before. This was a hit for Junior. Little Junior Parker. Born this day 1932. Now on the radio round here.

Kevin Robertson enlists his son Scott for this LP. The song title of the night is 'Get In The Parlour Jean', which is not a line from The Prime Of Miss Jean Brodie', but an excellent tune on the LP. And on the MBRS.

Frank O'Hara. Born this day in 1926. Died in 1966, after being hit by a vehicle in Fire Island. Which inspired 'Frank O'Hara's Hit' by Thurston Moore's band Chelsea Light Moving. Now on the MBRS

It's Frankie Cosmos. I discovered this week that the name was inspired by the New York poet Frank O'Hara. Born 100 years ago today. Frankie C's If I Had A Dog has some everyday lifeness about it, just like Frankie O's Lunch Poems. If I Had A Dog has guitar, so it's on the MBRS.

Flash Bang Wallop what a picture! The Velvet Underground. 1966, I suppose. Its been recently rediscovered. As far as the sound goes, their brilliant take on Marvin Gaye 'There She Goes Again' is now on the MBRS.

I did not know, or maybe I couldn't remember, Johnny Thunders on RTE TV's Night Hawks in 1990. And interviewer Shay Healey doing his best. Johnny held up well, too. Playing The Heartbreakers Pirate Love on the record show now.

Has there ever been a better record made in the 20th century? OK, there probably has. But this is the best one that mentions somebody walking down the street. And it makes the film 'Stripes' worth watching, too. Now on the MB Record Show.

I would suggest that this LP is not given the appropriate love and respect that it deserves. Without sounding like faint praise, there is not one less than wonderful song on it. Mystery Action - Mister Reaction!! Now on the MBRS Ahead of a new LP on the horizon, apparently.
