I see the use of MLS in midfield as a sign of growth from Arteta. Choosing to start him against Fulham through to the final is - hopefully - a harbinger of less fixation on mitigation. That’s a personnel and tactical choice that speaks to a recognition of the need for us to take the initiative.

People are questioning the squad selection of a coach that is not domestically produced. Question why we need coaches from abroad to properly use the talent we have. Question why we cannot domestically produce worthwhile, effective coaches. Question the actual substance of your supposed passion.
