A woman got shot after dropping a child off at school. A 6 year old left orphaned is awful enough. Orphaned by her government adds to the fear. Then they hear the government malign their Mum. I canāt cuddle that child, but I can say their president is a shithead, (because I donāt live in the US.)

In the end, someone has to ask *why* people have been persuaded to be so terrified of immigration, when it has so many benefits and so few real downsides. Almost all of the claimed downsides are either lies or misinterpretations of statistics. Why would any sane country do this to itself?

This is terrible news to wake up to. One of the good Hollywood guys, who made some excellent films. When Harry Met Sally is one of my firm favourites as someone who both loves and despises romcoms, it is damned near perfect.

One more thing about Hitler (no, I'm not secretly Ken Livingstone), as someone of Farage's age, is that *yes* we talked about him a lot, but always as an evil villain. There wasn't any doubt about that. Always evil. The quintessence of evil for the 20th century.

notes billionaires and their families own X, Paramount, CBS, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, the Washington Post, Amazon, MGM, Fox News, the Wall Street Journal and New York Post, and could soon own Warner Bros and CNN And they are all Trump supporters "Liberal media" indeed

Course my life was better 50 years ago. I was 7. Mum & Dad did stuff for me. Considered a genius cos I could do long division. Could get away with sulking. But fairly certain the 70s were shit for lots of people. Everyone wore brown suits. Oh, and there was a global recession & mass inequality.

Empathy is not a drug. Teaching is not a controlled intervention. Believing there is only one ācorrectā way to research is in itself a symptom of the imaginative empathy required.

Just attempted to read a systematic review on the decline of empathy in medical students, with conclusion that educational interventions can improve empathy levels, but what is really needed is a randomised control test to establish efficacy. WTF?!

We were sold AI on the basis it was going to cure cancer, solve climate change and advance our lives. Instead all it does is produce social media slop and put ordinary people out of work. I think we're entitled to feel a lot more pissed off than we currently seem to.
