inertia is the cause of--and solution to--all of life's problems
pinned post!
Maybe you like some of them, too. So now I'm selling them. Mostly as stickers or buttons for now, but I'm happy to put a bunch together into a single print--let me know if there's a specific set you're interested in.

Who's running against Connolly for SD-2 in 2026? (And who's running for his current seat?) I'm done being represented by a NIMBY who thinks that more lanes = less pollution and who ignores the anxiety non-drivers feel because of all the additional pollution he enables

If we're really open to spending $11B to elevate transportation infrastructure susceptible to sea level rise, can I interest Caltrans in 8 more miles of SMART?

The best opportunity to fix this right now is for people to comment on the MASCOTS plan about how the 32 minute SMART frequency is squandering all the value the other agencies are creating by aligning routes and schedules.

If it doesn’t rain for 17 minutes after the 9th inning on November 1, 2016 and the Tribe rides their momentum to beat the Cubs and send Ohioans (and Pirates fans overdosing on schadenfreude) into a celebratory bender, who knows how those two states go a week later

Instead of a new walkable community (with a park!) near frequent transit, the developer gets free reign to add to Denver's sprawl. Great job, everyone

The lack of run-through capacity at @Denver Union Station is discussed often (particularly for future Front Range service). There's no official plan, but
@greatdentransit.bsky.social
has an interesting concept to convert the current C light-rail line to standard railroad.

Here's a cool program in Denver: Offering subsidies to buy ebikes It's *way* cheaper than subsidizing electric cars ... ... and people rode 'em 26 miles/wk on average, year-round. Cleaner air, healthier folks; about 6 million fewer car-miles each year My piece

The secret to a better city is a two-wheeler
E-bikes get cars off the road and reduce pollution—and that's only part of why places like Denver are giving them away.

The A line runs every 15 minutes, so the average wait is 7.5. Fully double-tracking and doubling frequency probably saves you the same 6 min: 3-4 min shorter waits, plus 2-3 min faster travel times because there's no need to slow for any switches

By permanently mothballing the C & F lines, RTD reduced its fleet need by about 25%. The (30ish year-)old SD-100s are about 25% of the total fleet. Why keep paying to maintain an oversized, outdated fleet? Strip 'em for parts, focus/streamline maintenance activities on the 20 yr old SD-160s
