This is interesting to me because I grew up in housing that *was* built under this model. In Halifax, NS I grew up in Wallis Heights (now Ocean Breeze Estates) in the 90s, in what we affectionately called the PMQs (Private Military Quarters).

I've been seeing a lot of talk recently about trying to break away from US dependency on goods, and boosting people in the trades here during this most recent trade war. I agree we need more people in trades, but I think the problem is not necessarily getting people into the trades, but retention!

This is so important! It's not enough for more housing to be built, but people have to be able to afford it! There's two ways to fix that, making housing cheaper, or raise wages, and it's a hell of a lot easier for governments to raise wages!
