So, we now own a $7,500 kitty. Bertram should be coming home this weekend after Friday surgery for an intestinal blockage. Thankfully, no resection was needed - the offending hairballs were able to be squeezed back into the stomach and removed via an incision.

Realized I was in an entirely different social group at the neighborhood block party when someone asked me what I was drawing, and gave me a blank stare when I replied, "a biblically accurate cat".

I swear, achievements were such a terrible thing to happen to video games. I regularly find myself playing a game past the enjoyment level just to try to 100% it. I'm making a concerted effort to put games away when they stop being fun, even if I haven't "completed" them.

A little update on Dexter: He is an old cat (15) with Old Cat Problems. He was on gabapentin for his vet visit the other day because he had a very bad panic attack the visit before that.

Today's cool antique find is this masonic ballot box - the sort where you would vote with a black or white marble. I think Dexter is a fan.
