Teaching LGBTQ Studies in Ohio under this bill is a completely miserable experience. This is, of course, what they wanted. Ohio's Governor is now lecturing universities about making our campus tours more "pleasant" to boost flagging enrollment. Uh, guy, the tours aren't the fucking problem.

Respondents to a recent survey by AAUP Southern State Conferences indicate about 55.4% of respondents would not recommend their state as a desirable place to work for colleagues, while 25% are planning to apply in another state in the coming year. 1/2

In April, the AAUP & our Harvard chapter sued the Trump admin for demanding that Harvard censor speech & restructure core operations or else face $8.7 billion in funding cuts. We hope this decision clarifies to Harvard’s administration that bargaining w/ tyrannical authoritarians is unacceptable.
