This is something I've been thinking about. The more American politics becomes based on hatred and antipathy, the less likely it is to yield longterm benefits. The only logical basis for stable society is at least a modicum of respect. Everybody pays in, everyone benefits.

Democrats should realize, + I think they mostly do, that cost of living is THE biggest issue to voters. No flowery language about democracy, freedom, climate change, etc will sink in if you don't prioritize cost of living. That is why trump won in 2024, and why his polls are dropping now. know this.
