NEW: Lt. Governor @austindavispa.bsky.social is urging lawmakers to include $1.9 billion in federal Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) funding in this year’s budget. VOCA supports nearly 150K Pennsylvanians each year.

Without a state budget and the increasing federal funding cuts, our victims service organizations are running dangerously low on funds.   I’m calling on Congress and our state lawmakers to support our victims and the critical investments in our recovery programs.

The shooting of Charlie Kirk in Utah is horrifying & targeting anyone for their speech or their beliefs is unacceptable. Gun violence is uniquely an American problem and it is one we can & must do something about.

Since taking office, this administration has made a commitment to reducing gun violence in our communities- and we've made significant progress.    I sat down with the Office of Gun Violence Prevention to discuss future strategies to keep gun violence rates down and our communities safe.

NEW: The Shapiro-Davis administration just made Pennsylvania the first state in the country to offer an online pardon application. This streamlined process gives more people the opportunity to seek a second chance.

Whether it’s economic development or providing public services, our county commissioners often have some of the largest impacts on day-to-day life. I was proud to speak at this year’s County Commissioners conference and thank them for the good work they’re doing in our 67 counties.

Without mass transit funding, our entire state economy will feel the impact of working, shipping, and transportation delays, effecting commutes and jamming up traffic for hours. This is avoidable if Senate Republicans return to Harrisburg and do the job they were elected to do: pass a state budget.

It is time for Senate Republicans to break their vacation and come back to Harrisburg to finish the job and vote in a budget that funds our mass transit systems. Let’s get this done for Pennsylvania, now.

Pennsylvania remains committed to our early education teachers.    This administration has proposed a targeted investment of $55 million in the budget to provide our child care workers $1000 in recruitment & retention bonuses to attract more teachers to this essential work.

Lt. Governor @austindavispa.bsky.social joined state legislators and union member to urge Republican lawmakers in the statehouse to support raising the minimum wage. Since taking office, the Shapiro-Davis administration has included a minimum wage increase in every state budget.

In every budget we’ve asked to raise the wage and we did so again in this one. It is time for my colleagues in the State Senate to give working people a raise. Let’s work!
