Had an absolutely fantastic day yesterday at our second Opportunity Hounslow conference. Was wonderful to meet and hear from so many people from across the sectors in Hounslow - education, business, development, charity and more. All invested in making Hounslow the best place it can be.

A couple of weeks ago Cllr Sharma and I visited the demolition taking place at Charlton House and Albany Parade. Certainly some feelings of nostalgia but good to see things moving forward. Steve Curran’s old hard hat was please to get an outing too!

I was delighted to meet Adan last week, and hear about how happy he is in his new, accessible home, right in the heart of #Isleworth. Working in partnership with #Habinteg across 13 small sites, has transformed underused land into valuable housing.

Fantastic we were able to allocate £1m of CIL in supporting this project: a brand new health and community centre, along with 55 new affordable homes. Helping to sustain health and well-being provision in our borough long into the future.

Really delighted this council have supported the refurbishment of the iconic Gillette building. As @salmanshaheen.bsky.social says, its “one of our key focus areas for growth and jobs, and will help put Hounslow on the map, not just as a place where culture is consumed, but where it is produced.”

While it doesn’t deal with everything, it is a hugely positive step in the right direction and shows the value of listening to school staff and those who best understand the education system.

Fantastic news for Hounslow, and Feltham in particular! Great to received funding to look at how the MoD site can be best used for housing and employment, as well refreshing the Feltham masterplan to unlock the area’s full potential.

Plenty of residents quite rightly ask what benefits they get when new homes and retail get built in the borough - this is what I point to. £12m of CIL (community infrastructure levy) this year - money we get from development which we put straight in projects improving the lives of everyone.
