“Is the signal reaching!?” Finally got to do the drawing I wanted to the new Spinosaurus! Spinosaurus mirabilis, a slightly smaller spino, with a fabulous head crest. That they in this drawing use to signal to one another in the evening like boats in darkness.

Yes, every paleoartist in the world is currently drawing this little animal, so I didn't want to be left behind and I made my own version, because some friends were involved in its discovery, so we have to give them the tribute they deserve!!

I mean, yes, fun dinosaur stuff is fun dinosaur stuff. But Myhrvold is mentioned in the recent batch of Epstein files over 1000 times (far more than Horner). Some of the correspondence between the two is very chummy and concerning. See: www.seattletimes.com/business/loc....

Sereno was the one person who I was warned to avoid in the grad school whisper network, without any further explanation. There were a couple people I heard specific allegations about later on, but only after they had been removed from the field. It infuriates me, and makes me sick I didn't know.

If the paleo community is going to be serious about Horner’s connection to Epstein, we also have to be serious about Myhrvold’s, because guess who contributed photos of animals mating to Epstein’s birthday book and has been appearing in new paleo papers this year - including the new Spinosaurus.

Norway’s only dinosaur! A Issi or a Plateosaurus! Based on a fossil that is 4 cm from limb bone, from a boring sample from lthe ocean. It was described and attributed to Plateo in 2006 But in my opinion, it’s probably an Issi(described 2021) as they are much closer paleogeologically to the fossil.

I've now heard so many stories of known creeps (established men in palaeontology) harssing vulnerable young women in academic spaces, with formal complaints falling on deaf ears. Simultaneously, other young women were given immediate warnings and suspensions on trivial charges.

It is International Day of Women in Science! For this ocassion, a thread on influential women that illustrate prehistoric life🧵 Marta Szubert. Creator of one of the first to-scale feathered dinosar models (1997). If you've been to Poland or Slovakia, you've probably seen her models on display.

Bringing this back up for the International Day of Women in Science, and yes, I consider scientific art, as part of scientific process and communication 🫰
