äøļ¼å (jiÄ) / to add in which we feather down its dry spine, pulling palmy poppies out of the carcasses of urchins. once, we didn't know what to see of coasts beyond page breaks, & we watched the pebbles grow smaller as we descended, tide-thinned & well-traveled. leave seashells on the shore or risk damaging the ecosystem. this is the one rule you followed by the water, & i wondered if you obeyed out of regret.
