The speed I cancelled my psylocke: ninja pre-order after they announced it was a nostalgia mini instead of some kind of continuation of the excellent Alyssa Wong series. Especially when all other solo titles are getting a reboot, consider me disappointed.

My comic book pull list hasn't been so low in years. My mental health is also at rock bottom and the energy to keep up with weekly comic books has been non existent for a while. At the same time I can't spend time, energy and money in comics I don't like, I suffered enough through X-Men gold

I actually did not wake up this morning thinking, “I’m gonna draw the Wonder Chef from Tales of Symphonia,” yet here we are.

What I'm saying is that all we've got so far is sometimes pretty looking comics that don't do much more than circle around a whole bunch of nothing. Anything that could lead to something more profound for characters got cancelled

As a sidenote: the most interesting character development of any big two comic book IP that pushes the characters forward in the past year has happened in decidedly alternate universes that have no impact on the mainline precious gold geese

One thing about this age of revelation is that it'll save me a lot of money. Not necessarily hating on it, but this is an unnecessary temporary reset and totally not for me. Comics are too expensive to read those that you don't like. #xmen

Everyone likes to shit on the pre-krakoa era as something abysmal but at least those books felt connected for better or for worse.

I guess if you want to have something rise From The Ashes you have to burn the whole thing first? I guess we'll get a line with some sort of vision in a few years when the soil is fertalized again

In trying this thing with social media where I try not to write reviews of things like comics or books or series I don't enjoy. But the current state of X-Men comics in general is so sad and disconnected atm and it makes me genuinely sad.

A fresh shave did spell away the bad vibes ever so slightly. I consider keeping half my eyebrows instead of trying out the no eyebrow look fully as a small victory

The amount of disgust I feel for myself really can't be all that healthy and my therapy tips aren't helping much these days. Not a cry for help, mostly stating things out in the open to address it to myself

Coming from the krakoa x-era where I read pretty much everything with some joy, because it felt additive to a big core. And now after the rused ending we got, it feels a bit rough to admit that this larger core is no more

I guess, especially when it's a big two book that is super hyped up, one cancelled subscription doesn't necessarily matter all that much. It's much more about how I spend my money and enjoying what you spend money on. Especially when it's a 5 dollar book that semi double ships

And I say that as someone who trudged through guggeheim's X-Men gold hoping it would get better with time (it didn't)

It's hard to think about cancelling a comic book subscription but when the book is not giving and there's so many things to read that are better, I feel like choices need to be made in this quite expensive hobby

So many people are bugging @thesteveorlando.bsky.social about scarlet witch. And while it is a stellar piece of work, all I want to ask him if the final issue of sweet paprika: open for business is safe and sound 🥺
