Helped a lot by Mox really piling the pressure on through the heat so that all those big, flashy moments at the end really, really pop on top of Takeshita putting in one of his most interesting and vulnerable performances in a while.

Jerry Lawler vs. Bill Dundee (CWA 12/30/85) I don't know that there's pro wrestling as conceptually interesting and beautifully executed as Bill Dundee working over Lawler's bad eye, staying on his blindside, and picking away with some of the most evil punches ever.

I'll be honest, sometimes more dumb than disgusting but also just disgusting enough to just out and out rock.

Bill Dundee vs. Jerry Lawler (CWA 12/21/85) Look at this control work by Dundee here. Active while remaining deeply unlikable and vicious. Beautifully straddling the line of being malicious in nature and compulsively watchable. Some of the best heel control I've ever seen.
