My board was not stacked specifically for the Dolphins, it was for all 32 teams. They also drafted several players I haven’t watched. Proctor was a reach against my board, but it makes sense for Miami. Still not my favorite pick, but with the context, I’m on board with it.

Kacmarek would’ve been roughly TE8 and player 110 on my board if I watched him pre-draft, so I’m good with the pick at 87. 2023 tape from Ohio gave me more faith in him being a functional receiver, and the blocking lives up to the hype.

I have some concerns about Rodriguez (and an LB in general), but he and Brooks will be hella fun. Will unlock a lot of the coverages Hafley loved in GB. He valued that LB spot a ton with Cooper and Walker, so I definitely get it.

Dolphins are selecting Texas Tech LB Jacob Rodriguez at 43rd overall. It's another reach against my board, BUT Rodriguez is a smart, productive, and instinctual linebacker. Like Proctor, this pick feels just as much about the message it sends as it is the player.

I am struggling a bit with Proctor. I love the prototype (big, athletic, powerful, young), and I love the investment in the OL. I just saw so many problems with him in pass pro. I had a lot of the same issues with Patrick Paul and that worked out. Really think Proctor needs to play guard, though.

Big picture thoughts on Miami's picks. Proctor: Would've selected a different player, but see the vision. Athletic upside with +toughness at a high-value position. Johnson: Excellent scheme fit at a position of need, who should make some plays on the ball.

Dolphins selected Kadyn Proctor at pick 12. He is my 40th overall player and IOL4. Definitely a reach, but Proctor's upside is undeniable. I would skip the "try him at tackle" phase and just move him to guard, but we'll see if Miami goes that way.

Yeah once receivers started becoming more involved/better at blocking, I started asking myself why I’d even bother with a TE who can’t block. In most scenarios, they’re just worst receivers who are also a huge tell to the defense.

Went about 16 deep on the TE class because Grier + McDaniel’s handling of that position drove me up a wall. A few names I like: Sam Roush (Stanford), Dae’Quan Wright (Mississippi), and Nate Boekircher (A&M). Fwiw, I’m out on the “receiving TE” archetype. If you can’t block, I’m not interested.
