Yeah once receivers started becoming more involved/better at blocking, I started asking myself why I’d even bother with a TE who can’t block. In most scenarios, they’re just worst receivers who are also a huge tell to the defense.

Went about 16 deep on the TE class because Grier + McDaniel’s handling of that position drove me up a wall. A few names I like: Sam Roush (Stanford), Dae’Quan Wright (Mississippi), and Nate Boekircher (A&M). Fwiw, I’m out on the “receiving TE” archetype. If you can’t block, I’m not interested.

I've finally scouted and fully written up 100 non-QBs for the draft class, so it's time for my annual bender of watching the QB class. Given Miami is likely to select one late, I'll try to get through as many as possible. Just have to hope I still have hair when I'm done.

I’ve audibly said “Hell yeah” like 5 times in the first 20 minutes of Lee Hunter’s (Texas Tech, NT) tape. Great blend of quickness and strength on the interior.

It doesn’t hurt, but I’m hesitant to draw any big conclusions until I see what this final stretch looks. I cover this in the article, but we’ll learn about Weaver and his unit these next four weeks.

I have watched 3 Senior Bowl tight ends the past two days and none of them can block.

Toledo safety Emmanuel McNeil-Warren accepted his Senior Bowl invite today, and man his film is so fun. Throwback physicality at safety — excellent as a robber and makes so many good plays vs. the run. He’s an early All-Hollywood Team contender.
