Very frustrating to me that the Vikings' defense sometimes plays like opponents won't go for it on 4th down in 2nd and 3rd and long situations

I know we had the stat where the Vikings were by far the worst in the league at FG EPA against but I really feel like that luck has flipped the last... 2ish years? A lot more kickers are missing against us

We really haven't gotten to see the Vikings' defense play with a lead this year. The blitzing has already been awesome, but I think we're seeing what the Vikings could have been in terms of turnovers because Washington is forced to push the ball downfield.

I get that you want to try to force a turnover but attempting to rip a fumble out at the 8 or whatever that was is a terrible decision. You have such a better chance of stopping first and goal at the 8 than at the 1.

Would have been interested to see a replay of that third down to see if McCarthy had a real chance to get the ball to Jones or if Gary had sniffed out the screen. Otherwise, the other two incompletions aren't on McCarthy imo
