It's hard to leave someone or something in the past if there's still grief or anger entwined in our story w/ them. Our nervous system doesn't love moving on unless & until we acknowledge & honor those feelings as legitimate & important-- which, btw, they absolutely are.

I think the thing for me with trauma and bad experiences and remembering them is that bc of how intense my emotions are, remembering details also brings that turbo charged emotion roaring back when my tolerance for it is as sturdy as wet tissue paper

Fun fact Vex has a soft spot for a certain children's tale. Tula read it to them so much they memorized every word, so when Pauline tries reading to them it unlocks some of Vex's memories of Tula. It marks the start of Vex regarding Pauline as a friend!

Got to chit-chatting with the bus driver on the ride home, turns out he's had a second job at his family's maple sugaring business since he was a kid. So I got a lesson on how that business works, really fascinating. Just goes to show how you never know who you'll run into on public transport
