Having a foot procedure tomorrow that will require crutches for 6+ weeks. So today was my last hike of the summer. Made it to Twin Falls. First time here. It was beautiful! Life is good.

Got a chance to finish moving back into my office after taking leave this fall. (Been working in it...just hadn't re-decorated.) So...uh...I think I'm a purple-blooded University of Washington alum, as I have no less than 18 UW items on the walls or shelves. Go Huskies!

Cool hike to Cheese Rock and the Carlson Creek Loop up on the Teanaway with my sister today. Weather was great. Trail was nice. The dry ponderosa forest reminds me of my childhood home and hikes on Hwy 410. Life is good.

Last training session today to get ready for the Big Climb this weekend. Raising $$ to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. For me, to honor my Big Sis (Evvy, Lawndoodler). I'm trying to get to $1000 donated, so I'll match donations up to $100 total. Thx. pages.lls.org/bigclimb/wa/...

As I get closer, I'll throw this out there a couple more times. I'm at $740 raised so far. Would love to get to $1311, which is the number of stairs I'll climb on Sunday. (And I'm about 95% sure I'll be able to climb. My wife is feeling pretty good.) Donating blood is another way to support!

My wife has endured 6 months of chemotherapy, and surgery to remove her tumor and biopsy some lymph nodes. She still has radiation to go. But the pathology report from surgery shows that she is CANCER FREE!!! We finally see some light at the end of an ever-changing tunnel.

Had an amazing hike to Rattlesnake Ledges. Trail is in good shape, even above the third ledge. Views were GORGEOUS!! Great way to spend the day. I had my perma-smile on all day.

This. Definitely this. Unfortunately, I'm on a medication that prevents me from donating. There was a time when I'd go in every 8 weeks like clock-work. My Big Sis got blood products all the time during her fight with leukemia. My wife only needed one transfusion, but it made a positive impact.

My wife will get to ring the bell today after her last chemo infusion. Hopeful for a good outcome from all of this. She'll get to rest for a few weeks, then surgery as the next step.
