It’s enraging that the question of a mass shooting touching my community has increasingly felt like a question of ‘when’ not ‘if’. Last night it happened at Brown where my husband is a PhD student in a building he was in just two days before in a neighborhood we lived in for the past 5 years.

Last week I graduated with my PhD in Political Science from Harvard Gov. This hits close to home. Six of those killed, including 2 teens, were part of the skating community here in Boston. I first met Vadim and Evgenia in 2004. It was a joy to watch them coach their son Max to the world stage over the years. My heart goes out to the families and entire skating community.
