Captain Pike likes… Staring, agape, into the abyss.

Finally saw Project Hail Mary and mostly enjoyed it. Rocky is a delight, of course, and it’s marvelous to know he‘s (mostly) a puppet. I did think it tried way to hard to be funny, especially in the scenes on Earth. Though, fortunately, not in a Whedon way. 1/

When I saw it in the theater I laughed out loud when Anakin’s mom died right on cue. One other person laughed too, and I felt a kinship with them that I rarely feel with strangers. So, that was good.

The episode I remember most from this show is the very special Reaganesque “just say no” one. The main character is tweaking out on brain enhancers. It’s also well animated and introduced the phrase “ew, grosski!” to my vocabulary.
