Listening to the Khan podcast now and I'm not sure I'll be able to finish it. The thesis is definitely "Khan wasn't that bad a guy, actually". The historian protagonist reminds me of that SNL sketch where Heidi Gardner says "Thanos was a good dad, ok?!" I'm only 4 min in and already yelling at it.

If anyone is curious about animation. At animation school, we all had big desks with a hole in it, and a big animation disk fit in it. There was a lightbulb under it, and it lit the papers and you could see several layers of animation at one time. The pegs were circle and slits to hold it in place

SPOILERS. I think the writers this week were afraid of the blowback Charades got and rewrote the crews’ behavior to be about the Katra, but La’an’s subplot reveals the actual DNA, so to speak, of the episode. They couldn’t hide that this was always supposed to be about genetic determinism.

Why is our fiction constantly dissecting the wrongs of the oppressed instead of the much larger and obvious wrongs of the oppressor? The Lutani lost 800 times more people than the Kasar. What atrocities did the Kasar commit to get to that level of disparity in casualties?

I've never been a fan of the SNW uniforms. Why would you pair the laxness of a collarless V-neck with the formality of shoulder padding? But bringing up the hem a few inches sure makes them look better. Gives both Pike and Spock a more masculine shape. Number One looks great as is.

People talk about Kirk Drift, but McCoy Drift is also a thing. The prevalent view of Dr Leonard H McCoy is that he’s generally angry, offensive, sulky, and even a loner, which is all far from the truth. McCoy, is actually the happiest, most well adjusted person in the cast. 1/
