DeviantART's biggest problem, imo, is that it's filled with so much slop, both human and AI-made. Constant low-effort, low-quality posts, and a lot of it isn't even art, like random screenshots and MS paint memes. It was a problem before, but the artist exodus after DreamUp was added made it worse.

Hey all, so I've been thinking about it for a good while If you enjoy reading my story, I'd recommend shifting away from Globalcomix. In a week, I'll be removing myself from Global Comix entirely.

Dude the new digital circus was insane

The thing that makes me most angry about what's happened to webcomics is how the scene has been imitating the shitty industry more each year: companies are taking advantage of artists, grinding them up, and leaving them to dry after they get their use outta them. Webcomics should stay indie.

A reminder that FIVE MONTHS AGO!!!! @globalcomix.com was caught using AI on video ads. They promised to make a statement about it. They have not. They promised to revise their TOS and remove AI comics from their platform. They have not. This is from their creator's Discord, promising these things.
