Spoke to multiple fans at Anfield yesterday for their thought on the season & the manager frequently came up. The question we asked ourselves was “how good do you reckon the first 10 games of next season need to be for him to get folks back on side?” Most agreed the bar would be improbably high.

A privilege to have been there yesterday. I will say though, whether it was what the players wanted, I found it really odd not to hear from either of them after the fairly generic presentation they received. These are two all time greats. It felt incomplete.

Honestly, you see all the glowing tributes & anecdotes coming out about Salah over the past few days & how highly he’s respected by everyone & it only serves to emphasise how pathetic so much of commentary around him has been this season, especially from certain corners.

A combination of extremely poor finishing by Bournemouth and a massive swing of Haaland's left boot have put #lfc in the Champions League. Extremely lucky - Bournemouth could easily have been 3 or 4 up.

I would be more than happy with Iraola at LFC. It would be some step up but he’s shown himself to be a tremendous coach in such a tough league, where he’s frequently lost players to injuries & sales.

I’m sorry… 0.66 xg from open play, two games from a title, for your final home game of the season against the 19th placed side destined for relegation. It’s an indictment on the league that no one has been consistently good enough to beat such a limited Arsenal side.

They do need to sort corners out over the summer. It’s definitely a foul on Raya, but then there’s multiple West Ham players being fouled too. Not that it shouldn’t be ruled out—it’s just the epitome of the clusterfuck that is corners currently, though.

The irony of Arsenal getting away with that given how they’ve approached set pieces all season. Personally I think it was a foul. A wonderful metaphor for the quality of the season too.

Listening to post mortem’s of yesterday’s loss & the elements that need to change. Tactics, approach to conditioning & fitness, buy in from the squad. You can’t name me an example of a manager fundamentally changing those after things have failed for them, whilst they’re at the same club.

LFC have benefitted tremendously from Chelsea & Villa stumbling as they have, not to mention Utd being lacklustre too. Securing UCL should they manage it, will be a big slice of luck that the club shouldn’t take lightly. Decisive data driven decisions on the coach & squad are essential.

Let’s be realistic, the sort of start to next season that would be enough for Slot to silence his doubters & prevent fans from carrying over the negativity from this campaign isn’t going to materialise. We’ve seen this film before.

Salah was right to emphasise the importance of upholding & not forgetting what LFC’s standards should be in those interviews. The mental gymnastics some are engaging in to avoid looking fairly at the evidence from this season are wild.

19 defeats in all comps for LFC so far this season & you’d be a brave man to bet there won’t be more. Reds found a way back into the game largely due to Utd’s own ineptitude, then familiar frailties returned. It’s not acceptable for a club like LFC & never should be. Make the call.

The number of times I’ve seen a midfielder shaping to hit a ball at the edge of our box this season, with zero pressure on him has been scandalous. You deserve to be punished if you allow it.

I’d like to say LFC can’t be worse than that in the second half. This season has shown that to be foolish. I wouldn’t be surprised if they conceded early after HT. Higher ups need to show some humility & make the obvious call. LFC currently staring at 19 defeats in all comps

There’s mitigating circumstances today given the injuries. But I don’t like the direction this Liverpool side is headed in from a stylistic perspective, let alone a results pov. They’re timid, indecisive & weak. The foundations that made them so successful are being eroded

I’ve seen many inexplicably ragged performances from LFC at Old Trafford over the years. The difference here is that it’s not inexplicable, it’s predictable. The Reds have looked blunt in attack, timid & uncertain on the ball & vulnerable to every counter.

Would be considering this today, ignoring the Isak rumours for now. If he’s out, then Gakpo through the middle may be the best option.
