I think this is really goodbye this time. If anyone is interested in taking over and running this account and the other links, please let us know in the replies and we may send you our usernames and passwords. If nobody does, we’re just going to go dark and go do what the guide says in secret.

We would love it if people would bring some paper copies of Survive the Tyrant! to #worldcon and #magicon #magiconchicago to leave out on tables for people to find. There are pdfs that print nicely into booklets on the website and the deviantart page bsky.app/profile/surv...

Goddammit, I really wanted that exit to be the end, and then I saw this news. We couldn't have done this without Proton. So for whoever needs to hear it, it is basically impossible to excise free speech anonymously on the internet right now. You need email to do anything, make a website, etc.

Writing this thing we made felt like those good old days. Every day since we posted the website and tried to start sharing it has felt like crawling through a river of shit, and I only hope and pray we come out clean on the other side.

periodically I look around at the state of the internet and the way it is clearly contributing to making the world worse in so many ways, and I think back to dicking around in a computer lab in the early 00s and how full of promise it all felt, and I feel sad it didn't have to be this way

Hey free speech activists, FYI doing this anonymously was really hard. We couldn’t have done it without some real digital security expertise. One thing everyone can do to help is routinely use TOR, VPNs, and Signal so that’s just normal and they don’t get blocked so often.

Oh man how do all you authors, podcasters, and video presenters do it? We had this idea and said, "well, I guess we have to do it," but we aren't natural creative types. The anxiety of launching a thing into the world and hoping people like it is incredible! Much appreciation for you all.
